Taking inspiration from their Monte Carlo Rally wins, Czech based manufacturer Skoda has launched the stylish new Fabia Monte Carlo. The 2017 model comes packed with a variety of updates and new features exclusive to the Monte Carlo variant.
Inside you’ll find a flat-bottomed steering wheel with red stitching accompanied by sports pedals and seats while outside the “Monte Carlo” stamp can be found adorning both the B-pillar and front door sill plates. Black design elements are prominently displayed across the exterior of the car to contrast against the paint options giving off a unique yet tidy appearance. The front grille frame, side skirts, door mirrors, front spoiler, rear diffuser, 17″ alloy wheels all get the black treatment and a panoramic glass sunroof consolidates the Monte Carlo’s visual appeal which will be available in Corrida Red, Candy White, Race Blue and Steel Grey.
The Fabia Monte Carlo is much more than just a pretty face with a respectable collection of intelligent entertainment and safety features included from the base model. SmartLink Smartphone connectivity to connect your Apple or Android phone comes as standard equipment and the all new rear view camera joins the list of Front Assist with City Emergency Brake, Multi-Collision Brake and Electronic Stability Control as standard features available across the range. The optional Tech Pack can further improve the array of tech at your disposal by adding radar based adaptive cruise control, key-less entry and start, rear parking sensors, Climatronic air conditioning and more for an additional $1,800.
Unique to the Monte Carlo, sports suspension enhances driver feedback and handling providing a more involving drive. The turbocharged 81kw engine delivers 175Nm of torque which is mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission to complete the driving package and keep competitors in the city car class on their toes. For long trips regular cruise control with a speedlimiter comes standard.
The wagon body with it’s 505 litre seated luggage capacity or 1370 litres with the seats folded down, is now available in Australia for the first time for an additional $1,150 RRP above the $23,490 base RRP Monte Carlo Hatch.
