The future of auto is electric and the shift to new power platforms opens up entirely new design opportunities for design engineers to flex their creativity. INFINITI’s global design teams in Asia, Europe and North America have worked their magic to produce the INFINITI Prototype 10 Electric Speedster which was just unveiled at the 2018 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California.
The design is heavily inspired by the speedsters of California’s past, single seater driver focused machines with the pure intention of competitive speed.
“We all feel a certain degree of passion when talking about roadsters and speedsters. We are equally passionate about the potential that electrification holds for the future of our cars – a daring speedster is the perfect study for our designers to explore an electrified future and ignite such excitement.” – Roland Krueger, President, INFINITI
With acceleration performance handled by an entirely electronic drivetrain the global design team were able to experiment with the new found freedom not offered by traditional combustion powered layouts making the Prototype 10 lower, sleeker and less cluttered than it’s dinosaur juice powered brethren we’re more familiar with. It’s a design concept that we’ll be seeing far more of as every new INFINITI model from 2021 onwards will feature electrified powertrains in the form of either pure electric vehicles or e-POWER vehicles.
