The competitive landscape for auto manufacturer’s forces them to continually improve the quality of their lineup as well as jamming in as much value as the bean counters will allow. The fierce competition between manufacturers means it’s the customer who wins out in the long run and Honda have just played their hand to win over customers.
As of July 1st 2017, the entire Honda range in Australia will now come with a 5 Year Unlimited Kilometre warranty.

All models from the Jazz right up to the CR-V and high performance Civic Type R will benefit from the upgrade over the previously offered 3 Year / 100,000 Kilometre warranty. The new warranty stands independent from other Honda backed warranties such as the existing 6 year rust perforation warranty and 3 year paint warranty.
“Our new 5-year, unlimited kilometre Honda warranty, combined with Honda Tailored Servicing, reinforces Honda as a superior ownership proposition ahead of some key rivals,” Mr. Collins said.
“Given the quality of Honda vehicles they can sometimes be perceived as more expensive, when this is simply not the case. We encourage new car buyers to take a look at our pricing, our ownership costs and our new 5-year warranty against the competition. Honda is very competitive.”
Honda vehicles used for commercial purposes also benefit though not to the same extent, they receive a 5 Year / 140,000 Kilometre warranty.
