Ceasing production in 1996 in the USA the Ford Bronco is set to make a return around 2020 and development is well and truly on the way. Test mules have been spotted at the Ford proving grounds in Lara, Victoria alongside the next generation Ford Ranger. Both vehicles are to use the T6 platform which Ford Australia pioneered development of so it only makes sense to further develop vehicles locally.
Ford has yet to confirm the existence of the new Bronco. However, the Chairman at the United Automobile Workers let slip that the Ranger and Bronco will be making their return to the USA. Whether the new Bronco will be developed in right hand drive for export models is still unknown and it may never reach Australian shores.
